the rules we hold ourselves to
Editorial policy
Rankings come from a published rubric over verified facts. Nobody pays for placement. Confirmed errors are fixed within 7 days. This page is the full version of those 3 sentences.
How agencies are chosen and ordered
An agency enters the pool when we can verify it at source: its own site plus its Clutch profile, with public records for ownership and contracts. It appears on a page only when it has named, checkable work relevant to that page, and its position comes from the rubric on how we shortlist: named work, client evidence, the Clutch record, pricing transparency, service depth, domain signals and buyer fit. Nobody can pay for placement, there are no affiliate links, and no listed firm reviews a ranking before it goes live. The publisher makes the final call on which verified firms appear in the roster at all; exclusions never change how the remaining firms are scored or ordered.
Ownership and payments
UX Shortlist is researched and published by the UX Shortlist team. No agency pays for placement, and there are no affiliate fees behind the links. We do not collect or display reviews, we do not sell the Shortlisted badge, and we do not claim independence anywhere on this site; we describe the method and let you weigh it.
Corrections
A useful correction request names the page, the sentence, and what the correct fact is, ideally with a source we can check: a Clutch profile, a page on the agency's own site, a public record. Send it to hello@uxshortlist.com or via the contact form. We re-verify immediately, ship confirmed fixes within 7 days, and note the change in the page's What changed log. Takedown requests for logos or listings are honored within 7 days as described in the terms.
The review cycle
Every list page is re-verified at least twice a year, in April and October; pages launched in October 2026 get their first full re-check in January 2027. Between cycles, a page changes when an error is reported, an agency sends verifiable new evidence, or an ownership event (acquisition, shutdown) makes an entry wrong. Dates on the page move only when content moves: the Last checked date, the schema's dateModified and the sitemap's lastmod all come from the same field.
